About the Role

We are looking for a Machine Learning Engineer, a fast learner who likes challenges and wants to grow in a stimulating environment in between industry and research. At Quaesta AI you will contribute to develop solutions based on Computer Vision and Natural Language Processing models, you will build prototypes able to scale to real products, and implement optimized workflows for increased speed and performance. In your work, not only will you develop state-of-the-art models coming from the most recent advances in research, but also you will focus on implementing explainable models (XAI) with rich but yet intuitive user interfaces.

Main Responsibilities

• Train and evaluate Deep Learning models for Computer Vision tasks, such as object detection, anomaly detection and segmentation
• Implement Machine Learning models for prediction and classification tasks
• Process data from different sources and implement efficient pipelines from start to finish to automate the deployment
• Perform statistical evaluation and validation of models to optimize the automated solutions
• Study most recent research articles in Machine Learning and implement their algorithms
• Configure and manage linux workstations as well as AWS cloud instances
• Conduct exploratory research in Machine Learning
• Closely communicate with your team, share analytic insights in a concrete action-oriented perspective

Desired Qualifications

• Bachelor (master degree is a plus) in computer science engineering or related fields: students graduating by summer 2022 will also be considered
• Solid background in algorithm design, data structures and object-oriented programming
• Strong analytical skills, such as problem solving and logical thinking
• Good knowledge of Python (e.g., numpy, sklearn, matplotlib, pandas)
• Enthusiasm to learn new things and work in a multidisciplinary and international environment
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English

Optionally:

• Knowledge of the linux operating system 
• Experience with OpenCV
• Proficiency in C/C++/C# 

The following skills represent a plus:

• Experience with machine learning libraries (e.g., scikit-learn) and deep learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, etc)
• Basic knowledge in linear algebra, optimization and statistics
• Research experience in Machine Learning
• Experience with CUDA programming
